CNC Aluminum Heat Sinks

CNC aluminum heat sink components are reviewed from customer drawings with particular attention to fin geometry, mounting faces and interfaces. HKAA reviews the specified machining and finishing requirements; thermal performance remains subject to the customer’s design and validation.

Fin Geometry and Mounting Surfaces

Specify fin height, thickness, spacing and access requirements, together with mounting holes, pockets and mating surfaces. Identify base thickness, flatness, surface finish and the datums needed for inspection. Narrow spaces and tall fins require a review of tool access and support during machining.

Material and Finishing Requirements

State the alloy and temper, required finish and surfaces that need masking. Our 6061 aluminum machining guide offers related material information. Dimensions and appearance requirements should be defined for the finished component.
